Penny Alligood

Penny Alligood joined JWA as a summer intern while in school at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville. She was the first intern at JWA, blazing a trail that led to JWA’s involvement in internship programs at colleges and universities all across the state of Georgia. JWA President Chris Wood attributes her work and success during her brief stint at JWA with inspiring the firm’s continual involvement in internship programs.

Penny is currently the Creative Director for Georgia Trend magazine, where she works for one of Georgia’s most accomplished publishers in Neely Young, a contemporary of JWA Founder Jim Wood and fellow Grady College Board of Trust member with JWA President Chris Wood.

“Penny came to us around the time I was taking over the management of the firm, and I had no idea how an intern would work within our small organizational structure,” says Wood. “But she was great and so talented in many areas of PR practice. More importantly, she awakened our interest in internships because of her success, as we continue to provide those invaluable work experience opportunities for young students entering our field today.”
